New Meralco's Import, Mario West of Atlanta Hawks

Mario West finally agreed to terms of Meralco Bolts. After days of waiting on what team will acquire the service of this beast,Meralco seems made a very good decision to replace the outside threat Oguchi for a Glue guy who can provide the needed depth inforward Position.

The former Nigerian National Team sniper played his last game against B-Meg Llamados last night where he registered his lowest output of 12 points and missed all of his 10 attempts from beyond the arc.

Mario West spent 3-seasons in Atlanta and 6-games in New Jersey Nets, he also played in NBA D-League for Maine Red Claws. He last played for Tezenis Verona of Italian Legadue where he registered an average of 13.3 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.4 assist per game.

Sheryl Reyes, the agent who represents West in the Philippines, confirmed the news to InterAKTV.

“He’s set to arrive tonight. At least three PBA teams were targeting Mario, but we decided to choose Meralco,” wrote Reyes in a text message. “Meralco wanted to keep Oguchi, but it all boiled down to winning.”

West will be the fourth import of Meralco Bolts.
